About The Riding

Lambton—Kent—Middlesex is a provincial electoral district in Southwestern Ontario comprised of the Lambton County municipalities of Lambton Shores, Warwick, Brooke-Alvinston, and Dawn-Euphemia; the Middlesex County municipalities of Strathroy-Caradoc, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, Southwest Middlesex, Adelaide-Metcalfe, Lucan-Biddulph, and Newbury; and part of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent lying north of the River Thames (not including those parts of the former City of Chatham). Located within the riding are the following First Nations communities: Walpole Island, Kettle and Stony Point, Chippewa of the Thames, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee-Delaware Nation.

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is made up of rural and small-town landscapes. The fertile soil produces abundant crops of corn, soybeans, and wheat across the region. Many areas also produce specialty vegetable crops such as tomatoes, peppers, Brussels sprouts, carrots, onions, and potatoes in the Thedford bog, as well as ginseng on the Caradoc Sand plain. Scattered throughout the area, but especially near Lake Huron, are orchards producing apples and soft fruits. Much of Ontario’s production of pork, chicken, and eggs comes from Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

The towns of the region provide clean and picturesque living for those who wish to avoid the bustle of the city. The largest communities, Strathroy and Wallaceburg, have busy manufacturing sectors with plenty of local shops and restaurants. Tourism has long thrived in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, especially in the communities along the shores of Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair. Pinery Provincial Park, with its fabled beaches, is the most visited provincial park in the Ontario system. A newer business of craft breweries, cideries, and wineries is also emerging in the riding, making Lambton-Kent-Middlesex an exciting and growing area for tourists, families and couples.

This largely rural southwestern riding runs from Lake Huron in the north to the Thames River in the south, with Lake St. Clair in the southwest corner.

It includes Lambton Shores, Brooke-Alvinston, Dawn-Euphemia and Warwick; Kettle Point and Walpole Island reserves in Lambton County; part of Chatham-Kent, north of the Thames River; and north Middlesex County.
